Maintain a food diary
You may read this one before, but you can’t overstate the importance of keeping a log of the food you eat. It’s all too easy to underestimate the amount you are eating each day and then wonder why you are not losing weight . So keep a log of everything that you eat, including snacks, and it will help you to control your daily calorie intake.
Don’t deprive yourself of all your treats-
If you forbid yourself completely from eating certain types of foods, you will only find yourself craving those foods.You can compensate by eating less quantity of the favourite food or doing more exercise the next day.
Diet alone can never help in weight loss . Simple physical activity could be as walking for half an hour, going for a run or riding a bike .

Dont skip breakfast
Studies have shown that people who eat breakfast lose weight easier than those who don’t.After a night sleep the brain requires energy in morning so skipping breakfast deprives your brain of the essential nutrition
Snacking the right way
Eating a healthy snack between meals will help you to eat less at mealtime. Don’t worry about eating snacks, just make sure that the snacks that you eat are healthy ones, like fresh fruit or veggies, wholemeal toast or a handful of nuts. Having fruits as a alternative is also a good option to snacks
Don’t let your diet get boring
Keep your diet varied and don’t get stuck eating the same food meal after meal or you will become bored and find yourself tempted to quit. Dieting doesn’t mean that all you can eat are salads, so experiment with new healthy foods to keep your diet interesting.
Do drink plenty of water
Thirst is often misinterpreted as hunger , so be sure to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. It will keep you hydrated ,flush out your system and help to make you feel full.
Don’t quit because of non compliance
Don’t let one momentary slip put you off your whole weightloss plan. You are only human and there may be the odd days, when you don’t feel like exercising or you give in to the temptation to eat a calorie filled treat. The occasional slip is not the end of the world nor is it the end of the diet, so don’t let that be the excuse to quit!
Do control your portion sizes
Be consciousof the portion sizes in your meals as this just as important as the food that you eat. Many people fall into the trap of eating lower calorie foods, but increasing the portionsize like bucket sized portion of breakfast cereal nuts and dried fruits for example! This won’t help you shed pounds. It is better to eat more often but smaller portions, it will help to boost your metabolism which will eventually help you lose weight.
Don’t give up
The one thing you will need a huge helping of to lose weight is WILLPOWER! The ocassional slip aside don’t give into cravings, don’t let up on the exercise and you will lose weight.
